Dr Bhattarai is a Senior Scientist (Carbon Specialist) at CarbonLink Australia, and Senior Lecturer (adj) at CQUniversity Australia. He is also a member of Technical Working Group, formed by the Australian Government to develop, review and improve carbon farming methodologies. Dr Bhattarai has over 15 years of experience in GHG accounting and carbon farming, soil health and land management and community forestry. He has practical hands-on capability in industry, government, commercial and academia.
Currently, Dr Bhattarai is leading some large-scale projects (over $3 million worth) across Australia, major projects are: Enhancing grazing profitability through improving soil health; Developing soil condition analysis systems, and Construction and testing of the world’s first commercial scale SCANS unit for measuring soil C in agriculture. Dr Bhattarai received International Research Scholarships for PhD at CQUniversity Australia and a British Marshall Scholarship at Cranfield university for MSc in the UK. He studied BSc Forestry at IOF, Pokhara.
