About Us

Building connections, empowering communities, and celebrating Nepali culture in Australia. A platform dedicated to unity, support, and growth for Nepalese living abroad.

Nepalese Association of Agriculture, Forestry and Environment in Australia (NEPAFE) was incorporated by the relevant professionals and experts during a formal workshop held in Sydney on 9 February 2019 to foster scientific exchange and knowledge sharing between Nepal and Australia. The participants of the workshop decided to register the Association in NSW Department of Fair Trading. Hence, the constitution of the Association was developed following the template and requirements for the constitution provided by NSW Fair Trading.

Our Objective

The Nepalese Association of Agriculture, Forestry and Environment in Australia (NEPAFE) fosters a vibrant professional community connecting Nepalese experts, scholars, and practitioners working across agriculture, forestry, environment, and related disciplines throughout Australia.

Our mission is to advance scientific knowledge, promote collaboration, and support sustainable development that benefits both Australia and Nepal. We strengthen research partnerships, facilitate knowledge exchange, empower communities and professional networks, and contribute evidence-based solutions to global challenges - including climate change, food security, and natural resource management.

Through strategic engagement with academic institutions, government agencies, and industry partners, NEPAFE serves as a trusted platform for innovation, policy dialogue, and professional excellence.

Our Mission

We support communities by sharing science, technology, and expertise in sustainable agriculture, forestry, and natural resource management. We advance research and knowledge sharing, deliver inclusive programs, and empower youth and multicultural communities to become active stewards of the environment.

At the heart of our work is a deep respect for both scientific rigour and traditional ecological knowledge. We believe that durable solutions to global challenges like climate change, food insecurity, biodiversity loss emerge when communities are informed, connected, and empowered to act.

Organisational Values and Principles

Scientific integrity

We base our work on evidence, peer-reviewed knowledge, and rigorous research. We uphold the highest standards of scientific and professional integrity.

Collaboration

We believe in the power of working together - across disciplines, cultures, institutions, and borders - to achieve outcomes none of us could reach alone.

Community first

Our programs and decisions are shaped by the needs of our communities - in Australia and Nepal. People are at the centre of everything we do.

Transparency

We operate openly and accountably -with our members, our partners, and the communities we serve. Trust is earned through honesty.

Inclusion and equity

We welcome professionals, students, and community members of all backgrounds. We actively work to ensure our programs and opportunities are accessible to all.

Sustainability

We are committed to environmental sustainability in both our work and our organisation - making decisions that protect natural systems for future generations.
