NEPAFE delivers community, environmental, and educational programs through competitive grants, funding partnerships, and its own initiatives. From native habitat restoration to student fellowships, our funded projects reflect our core mission: fostering sustainable practices, empowering communities, and building lasting bridges between Australia and Nepal.
Supported by the City of Hobart, NEPAFE organised a guided 10 km community cycling event along Hobart’s Intercity Cycleway, uniting participants from diverse cultural backgrounds around climate action, sustainable transport, and community resilience. Co-delivered with NEST, Chiya Guff Run Club, Nourish Nation Foundation, and Tasmania Mountain Biking Adventures.

Each year, NEPAFE awards fellowships to two outstanding students enrolled in agriculture, forestry, environmental science, or related disciplines at Far-Western University in Nepal. The fellowship is designed to recognise academic merit, support students who may face financial barriers to completing their studies, and nurture the next generation of professionals in the fields NEPAFE champions.
This initiative reflects a core belief within NEPAFE: that the expertise of the Nepalese diaspora in Australia carries a responsibility to give back – not only to the communities we live in here, but to the students and institutions shaping Nepal’s future. We are actively working to expand the fellowship to additional universities across Nepal offering relevant programs, so that more deserving students can benefit each year.
