Perth, Western Australia | The Nepalese Association of Agriculture, Forestry and Environment in Australia (NEPAFE) recently hosted a warm and engaging knowledge-sharing session featuring Dr Jagadish Timsina, an internationally respected systems agronomist whose career spans more than four decades across over 30 countries.
The gathering provided a unique opportunity for members of the Nepali community, students, researchers, and professionals to connect with one of the leading voices in agricultural science and sustainable development. Held in an informal and interactive setting, the session encouraged participants to exchange ideas, ask questions, and learn from Dr Timsina’s wealth of global experience.
Learning from a Global Leader in Agricultural Research
Over an impressive career, Dr Timsina has worked with some of the world’s most respected research and academic institutions, including the University of Melbourne, CSIRO, and the International Rice Research Institute (IRRI). His contributions to the fields of cropping systems, soil and nutrient management, climate-smart agriculture, and sustainable farming practices have resulted in more than 200 peer-reviewed scientific publications.
During the session, Dr Timsina shared valuable insights into the evolving challenges facing agriculture and environmental sustainability, highlighting the critical role of research, innovation, and collaboration in addressing global food security and climate challenges.
